1. Impact
A system panic may occur on systems that open and close several UDP end points.
2. Contributing Factors
This issue can occur in the following releases:
SPARC Platform
x86 Platform

Solaris 8 without patch 117351-16
-
Solaris 9 without patch 117172-15
Note: Solaris 7 is not impacted by this issue.
3. Symptoms
If the described issue occurs, the system will panic with a "NULL pointer dereference" message similar to the following:
BAD TRAP: type=31 rp=2a100265720 addr=74 mmu_fsr=0
occurred in module "udp" due to a NULL pointer dereference
