The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in the handling of the "DELE" command. This can be exploited to cause a buffer overflow by supplying an overly long argument to the "DELE" command (more than 2000 characters). Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code, but requires that a user has permissions to delete files. The vulnerability has been confirmed in version 1.4.2.8. Other versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Do not grant "Delete" permissions to untrusted users.
