The vulnerability is caused due to an error in the "NLSCCSTR.DLL" module when processing certain HTTP requests for the "cgi-bin/" directory. This can be exploited to cause a stack overflow via a specially crafted HTTP GET request containing a long string of certain UNICODE characters. Successful exploitation may crash the "nHTTP.exe" process. The vulnerability has been reported in versions 6.5.1 and 6.0.3. Other versions may also be affected. However, the vendor reports that the vulnerability could not be reproduced on any systems. SOLUTION: According to iDEFENSE, the vulnerability does not affect version 6.5.3.
