Vacant positions at Secunia: http://secunia.com/secunia_vacancies/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TITLE: Claroline Multiple Vulnerabilities SECUNIA ADVISORY ID: SA15161 VERIFY ADVISORY: http://secunia.com/advisories/15161/ CRITICAL: Highly critical IMPACT: Cross Site Scripting, Manipulation of data, Exposure of sensitive information, System access WHERE: >From remote SOFTWARE: Claroline 1.x http://secunia.com/product/4607/ DESCRIPTION: Kevin Fernandez and Mehdi Oudad has reported some vulnerabilities in Claroline, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting and SQL injection attacks, manipulate and disclose sensitive information and potentially compromise a vulnerable system. 1) Some input isn't properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of a vulnerable site. Examples: http://[victim]/claroline/tracking/toolaccess_details.php?tool=[code] http://[victim]/claroline/tracking/user_access_details.php?cmd=doc&data=[code] http://[victim]/claroline/calendar/myagenda.php?coursePath=[code] 2) Some input isn't properly sanitised before being used in a SQL query. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code. Examples: http://[victim]/claroline/user/userInfo.php?uInfo=[code] http://[victim]/claroline/tracking/exercises_details.php?exo_id=[code] 3) Some input validation errors in the scripts "claroline/document/document.php" and "claroline/learnPath/insertMyDoc.php" can be exploited to upload, disclose, copy, move or delete arbitrary files via directory traversal attacks. Successful exploitation requires project administration privileges (e.g. teachers). 4) Certain unspecified input isn't properly verified, before it is used to include files. This can be exploited to include arbitrary files from external and local resources. The vulnerabilities have been reported in version 1.5.3, 1.6 beta and 1.6 Release Candidate 1. Other versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Update to version 1.54 or 1.6. http://www.claroline.net/download.htm PROVIDED AND/OR DISCOVERED BY: Kevin Fernandez "Siegfried" and Mehdi Oudad "deepfear", Zone-H Research Center.
