Vacant positions at Secunia: http://secunia.com/secunia_vacancies/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TITLE: SitePanel Multiple Vulnerabilities SECUNIA ADVISORY ID: SA15213 VERIFY ADVISORY: http://secunia.com/advisories/15213/ CRITICAL: Highly critical IMPACT: Cross Site Scripting, Manipulation of data, Exposure of sensitive information, System access WHERE: >From remote SOFTWARE: SitePanel 2.x http://secunia.com/product/5032/ DESCRIPTION: James Bercegay has reported some vulnerabilities in SitePanel, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks, disclose sensitive information and compromise a vulnerable system. 1) Some input isn't properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of a vulnerable site. Examples: http://[victim]/users/main.php?p=5&do=2&v=177%22%3E[code] http://[victim]/admin/5.php?do=chsev&postid=177&usernamess=test&inadmin=no%22%3E[code] http://[victim]/admin/5.php?do=chsev2&postid=177&usernamess=test&inadmin=no&newsev=4%22%3E[code] http://[victim]/admin/5.php?do=chsev&postid=177%22%3E[code]&usernamess=test&inadmin=no http://[victim]/users/main.php?p=5&do=0&show=closed%22%3E[code] http://[victim]/admin/0.php?do=ratekb&id=11%22%3E[code] http://[victim]/users/main.php?p=6&do=0&v=post&id=11&sec_name=Blah%22%3E[code] 2) Input passed to the "id" parameter in "5.php" isn't properly verified before being used. This can be exploited to delete arbitrary files via directory traversal attacks. 3) Input passed to the "lang" parameter in "index.php" isn't properly verified, before it is used to include files. This can be exploited to include arbitrary files from local resources. 4) An input validation error in the handling of attachments in trouble tickets, can be exploited to upload arbitrary files inside the web root. 5) Input passed to the "p" parameter in "main.php" isn't properly verified, before it is used to include files. This can be exploited to include arbitrary files from external and local resources. The vulnerabilities have been reported in version 2.6.1 and prior. SOLUTION: Update to version 2.6.1.1. http://sitepanel2.com/phpaudit/client_area_login.php PROVIDED AND/OR DISCOVERED BY: James Bercegay, GulfTech Security Research Team ORIGINAL ADVISORY: http://www.gulftech.org/?node=research&article_id=00072-05032005 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- About: This Advisory was delivered by Secunia as a free service to help everybody keeping their systems up to date against the latest vulnerabilities.
