DESCRIPTION:
Two vulnerabilities have been reported in Hummingbird InetD, which
can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of
Service) and potentially compromise a vulnerable system.

1) A boundary error in the InetD FTPD component (ftpdw.exe) can be
exploited to cause a buffer overflow by passing an overly large
argument to a FTP command.

Successful exploitation crashes the FTP service.

2) A boundary error in the InetD LPD component (Lpdw.exe) can be
exploited to cause a buffer overflow by passing an overly large
amount of data to the service.

Successful exploitation crashes the service and may allow execution
of arbitrary code.

The vulnerable components are included in the following Connectivity
products (but not installed by default):
* Exceed PowerSuite
* Exceed
* HostExplorer
* NFS Maestro Client
* NFS Maestro Server
* NFS Maestro Gateway
