Secunia hat zwei freie Stellen als Junior und Senior Spezialist in IT- Sicherheit: http://secunia.com/secunia_vacancies/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TITLE: Pico Server Directory Traversal and Buffer Overflow SECUNIA ADVISORY ID: SA15663 VERIFY ADVISORY: http://secunia.com/advisories/15663/ CRITICAL: Highly critical IMPACT: Security Bypass, Exposure of sensitive information, System access WHERE: >From remote SOFTWARE: Pico Server (pServ) 3.x http://secunia.com/product/2672/ DESCRIPTION: Raphaël Rigo has reported some vulnerabilities in Pico Server, which can be exploited by malicious people to disclose sensitive information, bypass certain security restrictions and potentially compromise a vulnerable system. 1) An input validation error in the URL request handling can be exploited to disclose arbitrary files outside the web root via directory traversals attacks via the "/./../" sequence. This can further be exploited to execute arbitrary local programs by prefixing the path with "/cgi-bin/". This is related to vulnerability #1 in: SA15387 2) Some boundary errors in the CGI argument handling can be exploited to cause heap-based buffer overflows via overly long CGI arguments (more than 128 on Linux). Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code. The vulnerabilities have been reported in version 3.3. Prior versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Update to version 3.4. http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=59378 PROVIDED AND/OR DISCOVERED BY: Raphaël Rigo OTHER REFERENCES: SA15387: http://secunia.com/advisories/15387/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- About: This Advisory was delivered by Secunia as a free service to help everybody keeping their systems up to date against the latest vulnerabilities.
