Board 4.x http://secunia.com/product/5546/ DESCRIPTION: Jeremy Bae has reported a vulnerability in Discuz!, which potentially can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system. The vulnerability is caused due to an error in the handling of file uploads where a filename has multiple file extensions. This can be exploited to upload malicious script files inside the web root. Successful exploitation may allow execution of script code, but requires permissions to upload file attachments and knowledge of the filename used to save the uploaded attachment. The vulnerability has been reported in versions 4.0.0 rc4 and prior. SOLUTION: Allow only trusted users to upload file attachments.
