DESCRIPTION:
Sven Tantau has reported a vulnerability in mplayer, which
potentially can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a
vulnerable system.

The vulnerability is caused due to a error when handling the "strf"
stream-format header for audio data and may be exploited to cause a
memory corruption via an overly large value in the channel
parameter.

The vulnerability has been reported in versions 1.0_pre7,
1.0_pre6-r4, and 1.0pre6-3.3.5-20050130. Other versions may also be
affected.

SOLUTION:
Only play trusted AVI files.
