DESCRIPTION:
shaun has reported some vulnerabilities in URBAN, which can be
exploited by malicious, local users to gain escalated privileges.

The vulnerabilities are caused due to some boundary errors in
config.cc, game.cc, highscor.cc, and meny.cc when handling an overly
long "HOME" environment variable. This can be exploited to cause
stack-based buffer overflows and execute arbitrary code with "games"
group privileges.

The vulnerabilities have been reported in version 1.5.3. Prior
versions may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
The vulnerabilities have been fixed in the CVS repositories.
