DESCRIPTION:
cocoruder has reported two vulnerabilities in DriverStudio, which can
be exploited by malicious people to bypass certain security
restrictions, and potentially compromise a vulnerable system.

1) A design error in the DriverStudio Remote Control service allows
the "winice.dat" configuration file to be modified via a NULL
session. This can potentially be exploited to insert SoftICE commands
into the INIT string, which will be run when SoftICE is started.

2) It is possible to cause a vulnerable system to reboot without
requiring any authentication, by sending a specially crafted UDP
packet to port 9110/udp.

The vulnerability has been reported in version 2.7 and 3.0 BETA2.
Other versions may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Restrict use to within trusted networks.
