The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error when handling MKD and DELE commands. This can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow by providing an overly long directory name as parameter to the commands. Other commands may also be affected. Successful exploitation allows arbitrary code execution but requires logon to the FTP server. The vulnerability has been confirmed in version 1.0.9. Other versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Grant only trusted users access to the FTP server.
