DESCRIPTION:
Two vulnerabilities have been reported in GNUMP3d, which can be
exploited by malicious, local users to perform certain actions on a
vulnerable system with escalated privileges, and by malicious people
with an unknown impact.

1) An error exists due to the insecure creation of "index.lok" lock
file in "/tmp" when the music server is indexing the music files.
This can be exploited via symlink attacks to overwrite arbitrary
files with the privileges of the user running the music server.

2) An input validation error in the processing of certain CGI
parameters and cookie values may be exploited to conduct directory
traversal attacks.

The vulnerabilities have been reported in versions prior to 2.9.8.

Update to version 2.9.8.
