TITLE: phpCOIN SQL Injection and File Inclusion Vulnerabilities SECUNIA ADVISORY ID: SA18030 VERIFY ADVISORY: http://secunia.com/advisories/18030/ CRITICAL: Highly critical IMPACT: Manipulation of data, Exposure of system information, System access WHERE: >From remote SOFTWARE: phpCOIN 1.x http://secunia.com/product/4722/ DESCRIPTION: rgod has reported two vulnerabilities in phpCOIN, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct SQL injection attacks and compromise a vulnerable system. 1) Input passed to the "_CCFG[_PKG_PATH_DBSE]" parameter in "config.php" isn't properly verified, before it is used to include files. This can be exploited to include arbitrary files from external and local resources. Successful exploitation requires that "register_globals" is enabled. 2) Input passed to the "phpcoinsessid" cookie parameter isn't properly sanitised before being used in a SQL query. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code. Successful exploitation requires that "magic_quotes_gpc" is disabled. It is also possible to disclose the full path to "config.php" by accessing it directly. The vulnerabilities have been reported in version 1.2.2. Other versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: The vulnerabilities have been fixed in an updated 1.2.2 version (as of 2005-12-13). http://www.phpcoin.com/auxpage.php?page=download PROVIDED AND/OR DISCOVERED BY: rgod ORIGINAL ADVISORY: http://rgod.altervista.org/phpcoin122.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------- About: This Advisory was delivered by Secunia as a free service to help everybody keeping their systems up to date against the latest vulnerabilities.
