TITLE: Community Enterprise Cross-Site Scripting and SQL Injection SECUNIA ADVISORY ID: SA18145 VERIFY ADVISORY: http://secunia.com/advisories/18145/ CRITICAL: Moderately critical IMPACT: Cross Site Scripting, Manipulation of data, Exposure of system information WHERE: >From remote SOFTWARE: Community Enterprise 4.x http://secunia.com/product/6631/ DESCRIPTION: r0t has reported some vulnerabilities in Community Enterprise, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting and SQL injection attacks. 1) Some input isn't properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site. 2) Some input isn't properly sanitised before being used in a SQL query. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code. It is also possible to disclose the full path to certain scripts by accessing them with an invalid "documentid" or "fuseaction" parameter. The vulnerabilities have been reported in version 4.x. Other versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
