Two vulnerabilities have been reported in LiveJournal, which can be
exploited by malicious people to conduct script insertion attacks.
1) Input passed in certain CSS style attributes isn't properly
sanitised by "/cgi-bin/cleanhtml.pl" before being saved. This can be
exploited to inject arbitrary HTML and script code, which will be
executed in a user's browser session in context of an affected site
when the malicious user data is viewed.
2) Input passed in certain elements in the XML xsl namespace isn't
properly sanitised by "/cgi-bin/cleanhtml.pl" before being saved.
This can be exploited to inject arbitrary HTML and script code, which
will be executed in a user's browser session in context of an affected
site when a malicious journal is viewed.
SOLUTION:
The vulnerabilities have been fixed in the CVS repositories
("/cgi-bin/cleanhtml.pl" revision 1.131).
