The vulnerability is caused due to an unspecified error in the POP3 service of the Message Storage Server. This can be exploited to cause a vulnerable service to enter an infinite loop by sending specially crafted packets. Successful exploitation requires that the POP3 service is enabled (not enabled by default). The vulnerability has been reported in version 2.0 Service Pack 4 and prior.
