The vulnerability is caused due to a format string error in "snmptrapd" in the handling of a SNMP trap request packet. This can be exploited to crash the service and may allow arbitrary code execution via a specially-crafted SNMP trap request sent to port 162/udp. The vulnerability has been reported in version 3.6 and 3.7. Other versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: The product is no longer being maintained. Use another product.
