TITLE: PHP Event Calendar User Information Manipulation SECUNIA ADVISORY ID: SA18792 VERIFY ADVISORY: http://secunia.com/advisories/18792/ CRITICAL: Less critical IMPACT: Cross Site Scripting, Manipulation of data WHERE: >From remote SOFTWARE: PHP Event Calendar 1.x http://secunia.com/product/7964/ DESCRIPTION: Aliaksandr Hartsuyeu has discovered a vulnerability in PHP Event Calendar, which can be exploited by malicious users to manipulate certain information and conduct script insertion attacks. Input passed to the "username" and "password" fields when updating user information isn't properly sanitised before being stored. This can be exploited to manipulate another user's user information and inject arbitrary HTML and script code, which will be executed in a user's browser session in context of an affected site when the malicious user data is viewed. The vulnerability has been confirmed in version 1.5. Other versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
