TITLE: NMDeluxe Script Insertion and SQL Injection SECUNIA ADVISORY ID: SA19117 VERIFY ADVISORY: http://secunia.com/advisories/19117/ CRITICAL: Moderately critical IMPACT: Cross Site Scripting, Manipulation of data WHERE: >From remote SOFTWARE: NMDeluxe 1.x http://secunia.com/product/8578/ DESCRIPTION: Aliaksandr Hartsuyeu has reported two vulnerabilities in NMDeluxe, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct script insertion and SQL injection attacks. 1) Input passed to the "nick" parameter in "news.php" isn't properly sanitised before being used. This can be exploited to inject arbitrary HTML and script code, which will be executed in a user's browser session in context of an affected site when the malicious user data is viewed. 2) Input passed to the "id" parameter in "news.php" isn't properly sanitised before being used in a SQL query. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code. Successful exploitation requires that "magic_quotes_gpc" is disabled. The vulnerabilities have been reported in version 1.0.0. Prior versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Update to version 1.0.1. http://nmdeluxe.com/index.php?page=downloads PROVIDED AND/OR DISCOVERED BY: Aliaksandr Hartsuyeu ORIGINAL ADVISORY: http://evuln.com/vulns/93/summary.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------- About: This Advisory was delivered by Secunia as a free service to help everybody keeping their systems up to date against the latest vulnerabilities.
