TITLE: D2KBlog Script Insertion and SQL Injection Vulnerabilities SECUNIA ADVISORY ID: SA19177 VERIFY ADVISORY: http://secunia.com/advisories/19177/ CRITICAL: Moderately critical IMPACT: Cross Site Scripting, Manipulation of data WHERE: >From remote SOFTWARE: D2KBlog 1.x http://secunia.com/product/8624/ DESCRIPTION: KAPDA has discovered two vulnerabilities in D2KBlog, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct script insertion and SQL injection attacks. 1) Input passed to the "memName" cookie parameter isn't properly sanitised before being used in a SQL query. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code. 2) Input passed to the "msg" parameter when signing the guestbook isn't properly sanitised before being used. This can be exploited to inject arbitrary HTML and script code, which will be executed in a user's browser session in context of an affected site when the malicious user data is viewed. The vulnerabilities have been confirmed in version 1.0.3 and have also been reported in prior versions. Other versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
