TITLE: VSNS Lemon Multiple Vulnerabilities SECUNIA ADVISORY ID: SA19420 VERIFY ADVISORY: http://secunia.com/advisories/19420/ CRITICAL: Moderately critical IMPACT: Security Bypass, Cross Site Scripting, Manipulation of data WHERE: >From remote SOFTWARE: VSNS Lemon 3.x http://secunia.com/product/8970/ DESCRIPTION: Aliaksandr Hartsuyeu has discovered multiple vulnerabilities in VSNS Lemon, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct script insertion attacks, to bypass certain authentication, and to conduct SQL injection attack. 1) Input passed to the "name" parameter when adding a comment is not properly sanitised before being used. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site when the malicious data is viewed. 2) Access to password protected articles is not properly authenticated in "functions/final_functions.php". This can be exploited to bypass authentication by sending forged cookie parameters. 3) Input passed to the "id" parameter in "functions/final_functions.php" is not properly sanitised before being used in a SQL query. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code. Successful exploitation requires "magic_quotes_gpc" to be disabled. The vulnerabilities have been confirmed in version 3.2.0. Other versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Edit the source code to ensure input is properly sanitised. Do not rely on password protection for articles.
