TITLE: PCPIN Chat SQL Injection and Local File Inclusion Vulnerabilities SECUNIA ADVISORY ID: SA19708 VERIFY ADVISORY: http://secunia.com/advisories/19708/ CRITICAL: Highly critical IMPACT: Security Bypass, Manipulation of data, Exposure of sensitive information, System access WHERE: >From remote SOFTWARE: PCPIN Chat 5.x http://secunia.com/product/9427/ DESCRIPTION: rgod has discovered two vulnerabilities in PCPIN Chat, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct SQL injection attacks, disclose sensitive information, and compromise a vulnerable system. 1) Input passed to the "login" parameter in "main.php" isn't properly sanitised before being used in a SQL query. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code. Successful exploitation requires that "magic_quotes_gpc" is disabled. 2) Input passed to the "language" parameter in "main.php" isn't properly verified, before it is used to include files. This can be exploited to include arbitrary files from local resources. Successful exploitation requires that "magic_quotes_gpc" is disabled. A combination of vulnerabilities #1 and #2 can be exploited to access the administration section and include arbitrary PHP code via an uploaded malicious smiley image. The vulnerabilities have been confirmed in version 5.0.4. Other versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised and verified.
