TITLE: Simplog SQL Injection and Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerabilities SECUNIA ADVISORY ID: SA19764 VERIFY ADVISORY: http://secunia.com/advisories/19764/ CRITICAL: Moderately critical IMPACT: Cross Site Scripting, Manipulation of data WHERE: >From remote SOFTWARE: Simplog 0.x http://secunia.com/product/5750/ DESCRIPTION: Mustafa Can Bjorn has reported some vulnerabilities in Simplog, which can be exploited by malicious users and by malicious people to conduct SQL injection and cross-site scripting attacks. 1) Input passed to the "tid" parameter in preview.php, to the "cid", "pid", and eid" parameters in archive.php, and to the "pid" parameter in comments.php isn't properly sanitised before being used in a SQL query. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code. 2) Input passed to the "imagedir" parameter in imagelist.php is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site. The vulnerabilities have been reported in version 0.9.3. SOLUTION: Some of the vulnerabilities have been fixed in version 0.9.3.1. http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/simplog/simplog-0.9.3.1.tar.gz?download PROVIDED AND/OR DISCOVERED BY: Mustafa Can Bjorn ORIGINAL ADVISORY: http://www.nukedx.com/?viewdoc=25 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- About: This Advisory was delivered by Secunia as a free service to help everybody keeping their systems up to date against the latest vulnerabilities.
