TITLE: Juniper Networks IVE ActiveX Control Buffer Overflow SECUNIA ADVISORY ID: SA19842 VERIFY ADVISORY: http://secunia.com/advisories/19842/ CRITICAL: Highly critical IMPACT: System access WHERE: >From remote OPERATING SYSTEM: Juniper IVE OS Software 4.x http://secunia.com/product/6645/ Juniper IVE OS Software 5.x http://secunia.com/product/6644/ DESCRIPTION: eEye Digital Security has reported a vulnerability in Juniper IVE OS, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system. The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error within the "JuniperSetupDLL.dll" of the SSL-VPN client IVE ActiveX control. This can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow when the control is instantiated with an overly long "ProductName" parameter. Successful exploitation allows arbitrary code execution, but requires that the user is e.g. tricked into visiting a malicious web site. The vulnerability has been reported in versions 1.x through 5.x. SOLUTION: Update to IVE software version 5.3r2.1, 5.2r4.1, 5.1r8, 5.0r6.1, or 4.2r8.1.
