TITLE: Bitrix Site Manager Multiple Vulnerabilities SECUNIA ADVISORY ID: SA20143 VERIFY ADVISORY: http://secunia.com/advisories/20143/ CRITICAL: Less critical IMPACT: Cross Site Scripting, Exposure of sensitive information WHERE: >From remote SOFTWARE: Bitrix Site Manager 4.x http://secunia.com/product/5249/ DESCRIPTION: Gogi The Georgian has reported some vulnerabilities and a security issue in Bitrix Site Manager, which can be exploited by malicious users to conduct script insertion attacks, and by malicious people to disclose certain sensitive information and conduct cross-site scripting attacks. 1) Input passed to unspecified parameters in the administrative section is not properly sanitised before being used. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browsers session in context of an affected site when malicious data is viewed. Successful exploitation requires access to the administration section. 2) Access to bitrix/updates/updater.log is not properly restricted. This can be exploited to disclose sensitive information by accessing the file directly. 3) Input passed to the "back_url" parameter is not properly sanitised before being used. This can be exploited to redirect users to malicious sites. The vulnerabilities have been reported in the latest version. Other versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Grant only trusted users to a vulnerable system. Filter malicious characters and character sequences in a webproxy. Restrict access to /bitrix/updates/updater.log PROVIDED AND/OR DISCOVERED BY: Gogi The Georgian ---------------------------------------------------------------------- About: This Advisory was delivered by Secunia as a free service to help everybody keeping their systems up to date against the latest vulnerabilities.
