TITLE: DGBook "index.php" Multiple Vulnerabilities SECUNIA ADVISORY ID: SA20201 VERIFY ADVISORY: http://secunia.com/advisories/20201/ CRITICAL: Moderately critical IMPACT: Cross Site Scripting, Manipulation of data WHERE: >From remote SOFTWARE: DGBook 1.x http://secunia.com/product/10119/ DESCRIPTION: Some vulnerabilities have been discovered in DGBook, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct script insertion attacks and SQL injection attacks. 1) Input passed to the "name", "email", "homepage", "address", "comment", and "ip" parameters in index.php is not properly sanitised before being used in a SQL query. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code. Successful exploitation requires that "magic_quotes_gpc" is disabled. 2) Input passed to the "name", "homepage", "email", and "address" parameters in index.php is not properly sanitised before being used. This can be exploited to insert arbitrary HTML and script code, which will be executed in a user's browser session in context of an affected site when malicious data is viewed. The vulnerabilities have been confirmed in version 1.0. Other versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
