TITLE: artmedic newsletter "log.php" PHP Code Injection Vulnerability SECUNIA ADVISORY ID: SA20204 VERIFY ADVISORY: http://secunia.com/advisories/20204/ CRITICAL: Highly critical IMPACT: System access WHERE: >From remote SOFTWARE: artmedic newsletter 4.x http://secunia.com/product/10092/ DESCRIPTION: C.Schmitz has discovered a vulnerability in artmedic newsletter, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a vulnerable system. Input passed to the "logfile" and "email" parameters in log.php (version 4.1), respectively newsletter_log.php (version 4.1.2) is not properly sanitised before being used. This can be exploited to inject arbitrary PHP code into arbitrary files, which will be executed when the files are accessed. Successful exploitation requires that "register_globals" is enabled. The vulnerability has been confirmed in version 4.1 and 4.1.2. Other versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
