DESCRIPTION:
r0t has discovered a vulnerability in Azureus, which can be exploited
by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks.

Input passed to the "search" parameter in index.tmpl isn't properly
sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to
execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in
context of an affected site.

Example:
http://[host]:6969/index.tmpl?search=[code]

Successful exploitation requires that the built-in tracker is enabled
on a HTTP port (not enabled by default).

The vulnerability has been confirmed in version 2.4.0.2. Other
versions may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Filter malicious characters and character sequences in a proxy server
or firewall with URL filtering capabilities.
