DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in Pinball, which can be exploited
by malicious, local users to gain escalated privileges.

The vulnerability is caused due to an input validation error when
loading compiled plugins. This can be exploited to cause the
application to load plugins from user-controlled directories without
dropping privileges.

Successful exploitation may allow the user to perform certain actions
with privileges of the "games" user.

The vulnerability has been reported in version 0.3.1. Other versions
may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Restrict access to trusted users only.

Some Linux vendors have released fixed packages.
