This can be exploited to insert arbitrary HTML and script code, which will be executed in a user's browser session in context of a site that uses the Feedsplitter script to display content from a malicious feed. 2) Input passed to the "format" parameter in feedsplitter.php is not properly verified before being used to parse files. This can be exploited to disclose the contents of certain XML files on the system via directory traversal attacks. Note: This can further be exploited to execute arbitrary PHP code on a vulnerable system, but requires that "magic_quotes_gpc" is disabled and that the path to the cache directory is known when not using the default setting. The script also contains a function "showsource()", which can be used to disclose the source code of the script. The vulnerabilities have been confirmed in version 2006-01-21. Other versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised and verified.
