A boundary error exists in the HTTP Protocol Stack (httpstk) component of iMonitor within the "BuildRedirectURL()" function when processing "Host" HTTP headers. This can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow via a specially crafted request with an overly long "Host" header (more than 64 bytes). Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code. The vulnerability is reported in version 8.7.3.8. Other versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: The vendor has issued a beta FTF1. eDirectory Post 8.7.3.8 FTF1 HTTPSTK (beta): http://support.novell.com/servlet/filedownload/sec/nsd/edir8738ftf_http.tgz/ PROVIDED AND/OR DISCOVERED BY: Michael Ligh and Ryan Smith.
