---------------------------------------------------------------------- To improve our services to our customers, we have made a number of additions to the Secunia Advisories and have started translating the advisories to German. The improvements will help our customers to get a better understanding of how we reached our conclusions, how it was rated, our thoughts on exploitation, attack vectors, and scenarios. This includes: * Reason for rating * Extended description * Extended solution * Exploit code or links to exploit code * Deep links Read the full description: http://corporate.secunia.com/products/48/?r=l Contact Secunia Sales for more information: http://corporate.secunia.com/how_to_buy/15/?r=l ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TITLE: Citrix Presentation Server IMA Service Vulnerabilities SECUNIA ADVISORY ID: SA22802 VERIFY ADVISORY: http://secunia.com/advisories/22802/ CRITICAL: Moderately critical IMPACT: DoS, System access WHERE: >From local network SOFTWARE: Citrix Presentation Server 4.x http://secunia.com/product/5270/ Citrix MetaFrame XP for Windows 1.x http://secunia.com/product/178/ Citrix MetaFrame Presentation Server 3.x http://secunia.com/product/3805/ DESCRIPTION: Two vulnerabilities have been reported in Citrix Presentation Server, which can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service) or compromise a vulnerable system. 1) An error exists within the "IMA_SECURE_DecryptData1()" function in ImaSystem.dll when decrypting authentication data. This can be exploited to cause a heap-based buffer overflow by sending specially crafted data to the Independent Management Architecture (IMA) service (default port 2512/tcp or 2513/tcp). Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code. 2) An input validation error in the handling of certain packet types in the Independent Management Architecture (IMA) service can be exploited to crash the service. SOLUTION: Apply hotfix (see vendor advisory for details).
