The vulnerability is caused due to an error in the "ATPsndrsp()" function and can be exploited to cause a kernel panic. Successful exploitation requires that AppleTalk is enabled. The vulnerability is reported in Mac OS X 10.4.8 (x86). Other versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Disable AppleTalk and grant only trusted users access to affected systems.
