DESCRIPTION:
Daniel Kahn Gillmor has discovered a weakness in PuTTY, which can be
exploited by malicious, local users to gain knowledge of sensitive
information.

The weakness is caused due to "puttygen" generating new private keys
with potentially insecure default file permissions, which can be
exploited to disclose a user's private key.

The weakness is confirmed in version 0.58 and 0.59 on a Linux system.
Other versions may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Use "puttygen" within a folder that is not accessible to other users.
