This may be related to vulnerability #1 of: SA22572 2) Two integer overflows within the "ReadXWDImage()" function when calculating the amount of memory to be allocated for the 'colors' or 'comment' fields can be exploited to cause heap-based buffer overflows when processing specially crafted XWD images. The vulnerabilities are reported in version 6.3.x. The source code for versions 6.3.1, 6.3.2, 6.3.3-3 and 6.2.9 reportedly contain the vulnerable code. Other versions may also be affected.
