DESCRIPTION:
foobarwp12 has reported a security issue in WordPress, which
potentially can be exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS
(Denial of Service).

The security issue is caused due to WordPress not verifying pingback
URLs or limiting the maximum size of files to be downloaded during
the pingback process. This can be exploited to cause high bandwidth
usage by sending multiple pingbacks containing URLs to large files.

The security issue is confirmed in version 2.1.3. Other versions may
also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that pingback URLs are properly
verified and no large files can be downloaded.
