The "getChains()" function in server/rules.cpp deletes the file "/tmp/fireflier.rules" in an insecure manner, which can be exploited via symlink attacks to delete arbitrary files. The security issue is reported in version 1.1.6. Other versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: FireFlier is no longer officially supported. Edit the source code to use temporary files correctly or use another product.
