The vulnerability is caused due to an input validation error in the ping functionality of the web interface. This can be exploited to inject and execute arbitrary shell commands via backtick characters. Example: https://[device]:8443/cgi-bin/runDiagnostics.cgi?command=Ping¶m=%60[code]%60 Successful exploitation requires that the user visits a malicious web site while being logged on to the device.
