DESCRIPTION:
Sun has acknowledged a vulnerability in Sun Solaris, which
potentially can be exploited by malicious users to gain escalated
privileges.

The vulnerability is caused due to an unspecified error within the
Role Based Access Control (RBAC) system, which can be exploited to
gain root privileges.

Successful exploitation requires that the attacker knows the password
for certain affected roles. 

The vulnerability is reported in Sun Solaris 8 for both the SPARC and
x86 architectures. Sun Solaris 9 and 10 are not affected.

SOLUTION:
Apply patches.
