The vulnerability is caused due to the use of uninitialized pointers within debugging functions (e.g. "pldbg_get_stack()") that are called before calling the "pldbg_create_listener()" function. This can be exploited to crash the vulnerable server and potentially execute arbitrary code by executing certain queries (e.g. "select pldbg_abort_target()"). Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code. The vulnerability is reported in version 8.2. Prior versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: The vendor reportedly released a patch, which is available to EnterpriseDB Advanced Server customers.
