The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error within the "redir()" function in check_http.c when processing HTTP "Location:" header information. This can be exploited to cause a buffer overflow by returning an overly long string in the "Location:" header to a vulnerable system. Successful exploitation requires that a connection is made to a malicious web server. SOLUTION: Update to version 1.4.10. http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=29880 PROVIDED AND/OR DISCOVERED BY: Nobuhiro Ban ORIGINAL ADVISORY: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1687867&group_id=29880&atid=397597 http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?forum_id=740172 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- About: This Advisory was delivered by Secunia as a free service to help everybody keeping their systems up to date against the latest vulnerabilities.
