The vulnerability is caused due to an error in the "ap_proxy_http_process_response()" function when forwarding interim responses. This can be exploited to consume large amounts of memory by tricking mod_proxy into sending an overly large number of interim responses to the client. The vulnerability is reported in versions 2.2.8 and 2.0.63. Other versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Fixed in the SVN repository. http://svn.apache.org/viewvc/httpd/httpd/trunk/modules/proxy/mod_proxy_http.c?r1=666154&r2=666153&pathrev=666154 Restrict proxy access to trusted users only.
