The vulnerability is caused due to missing restrictions on file types that users are allowed to upload as avatar images. This can be exploited to upload malicious script files (e.g. PHP scripts) inside the web root. The vulnerability is confirmed in version 2.3.5. Other versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Edit the source code to ensure that the name and type of files are properly sanitised and verified.
