The vulnerability is caused due to an error when traversing certain OID branches (e.g. hrSWInstalled in HOST-RESOURCES-MIB / OID 1.3.6.1.2.1.25.6) and can be exploited to crash the daemon. The vulnerability is reported in version 6.0.2 hotfix 3. Other versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Restrict network access to the SNMP daemon.
