The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error within "OpenGifFile()" in BiGif.dll. This can be exploited to cause a heap-based buffer overflow e.g. by passing an overly long string to the "GetNumberOfImagesInGifFile()" method of the BIImgFrm Control ActiveX control (BIImgFrm.ocx). Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code. The vulnerability is confirmed in version 10.95. Other versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Set the kill-bit for the BIImgfrm Control ActiveX control.
