The weaknesses are caused due insufficient filtering of certain input when executing certain commands (e.g. the "K", ", and "g]" commands), which can be exploited to execute arbitrary Vim script or shell commands. Successful exploitation requires that the user e.g. is tricked into opening a malicious file and using the "K" command on a malicious keyword. Exploitation can also depend on certain settings like "iskeyword", which can be automatically set by malicious files if support for modelines is enabled. The weaknesses are reported in version 3.00 to 7.2. Other versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Do not use affected commands when editing untrusted files.
