The security issue is caused due to the "migrate_aliases.sh" script handling temporary files in an insecure manner. This can be exploited via symlink attacks to overwrite arbitrary files with the privileges of the user running the script. The security issue is confirmed in Citadel Server version 7.37. Other versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Do not use the "migrate_aliases.sh" script in multi-user environments. PROVIDED AND/OR DISCOVERED BY: Reported by Dmitry E. Oboukhov in a Debian bug report.
