Input passed to the "image" parameter in bin/configure is not properly sanitised before being used in a call to "open()". This can be exploited to read arbitrary files from local resources via directory traversal attacks or to execute arbitrary commands via shell meta-characters. Successful exploitation requires that the application is improperly installed, allowing unrestricted access to the bin/configure script (contrary to the documentation). The security issue is reported in versions prior to 4.2.3. SOLUTION: Update to version 4.2.3. PROVIDED AND/OR DISCOVERED BY: The vendor credits Sven, Vicki, David, and Michael.
