The vulnerability is caused due to the VSPDFViewerX.VSPDFViewer (VSPDFViewerX.ocx) ActiveX control providing the insecure "savePageAsBitmap()" method. This can be exploited to overwrite arbitrary files on the local system via arguments passed to the affected method. This vulnerability is confirmed in version 3.0.990. Other versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Set the kill-bit for the affected ActiveX control.
